Story

Jo was found wandering alone in the forests of the Dravanian Forelands at a young age. With no family in sight, she was taken in by chocobo hunters from nearby Tailfeather and raised as their own. She grew up wild and free, causing quite a bit of mischief around town. Eventually, she began to show proficiency in magic and was sent to Limsa Lominsa to train with the Arcanists' Guild. Her adventure began there...

Story

Due to her prowess at dealing with primals, Y’mhrita recommends Joanna to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. She joins them to help stop the primal threat, but quickly learns that the true threat comes from Garlemald. Not willing to see such pain and suffering continue, she single-mindedly dedicates herself to stopping the empire, knowing that because she has the power to fight, she must.

Story

With the loss of the Scions, Joanna retreats towards home in the north, but seeks shelter with House Fortemps for fear of bringing any trouble back to Tailfeather. To repay them for their kindness, she assists them with various missions around Ishgard and Coerthas, eventually forcing her face to face with Ysayle, a woman who she had not seen since they were children.Once she learns of the true start of the Dragonsong War, Joanna is beside herself. She knows she needs to help put an end to the conflict and joins up with Ysayle on her quest. When peaceful resolutions seem out of reach, she steels herself knowing that both Nidhogg and Thordan must be killed to end the bloodshed. The Dragonsong War ended, but the losses of both Ysayle and Haurchefant leave Joanna shaken. She couldn’t protect either of them so what good is this power that she has? She won’t let anyone else die, she has to get stronger.

Story

Feeling for the Doman’s plight and needing to get away from Eorzea for a while, Joanna heads to Doma with Yugiri and Gosetsu. She works closely with the Doman Liberation Front, eventually heading to the Azim Steppe to assist with the Au’ra unit’s integration into the movement. The hunters and fighters of the Steppe remind her of those she grew up with in Tailfeather and she chooses to stay and work alongside them against the Garlean Empire and Zenos. With Doma liberated and her homesickness only growing, Joanna returns to Eorzea to assist in the final push to free Ala Mhigo. The high of freeing not only one but two states from Garlemald’s reign of terror help mitigate her uncertantiy about her abilities and gives her back the confidence she once had.

Story

Joanna is at a loss. Brute force will not awaken the Scions and the voice calling her is only getting stronger. Once pulled into the First, she is only at a greater loss. The plight of the First is tragic and knowing that destruction awaits the Source as well moves her to act. Understanding that her skills lie in the physical and not mental, she falls back to what she knows: hunting. Joanna takes up the persona of a wandering hunter, tracking and killing any sineater she can find, hopefully helping to cleanse this world of the overbearing Light. Eventually, she joins up with Ryne’s contingent to track down and defeat the Light Wardens. The journey took its toll. The endless fighting with sineaters, seeing comrades turned, and knowing that all these sineaters used to be someone’s comrade, friend, family, began eating her inside. She has pushed down those feelings as best she can but sometimes they still bubble to the surface.
